Project Love Proposal 2012 Cycling Across America

Project Love is a fundraising event held through a non-profit organization called “Living Our Real Dreams”. It is a bike ride across America to raise money for children’s education that lost or have critically injured parents/ family members from the recent conflicts. The idea of Project Love was developed by a phenomenal being by the name of Mr. Erik Williams. It is a one year fundraising event. This event will take place beginning January 2011 until January 2012. The actual bike ride itself will take place from September 2012 until approximately mid-November 2011. All funds raised will be donated to an already established Military Scholarship Fund.

Erik Williams is a C6-7 quadriplegic and will use a hand propelled bicycle to complete this bike ride from New York, New York to Los Angeles, California. He has a support team including riders; Team Love, which will accompany him along the way. Erik Williams was critically injured in an accident in 1997. He has been rebuilding his life for over ten years now. During this re-developmental process Erik discovered himself and the true basic principles of life. A big part of why he could rebuild his life was because of assistance from our government. Programs like Social Security Disability and In-Home Supportive Services and financial aid for the three degrees he now is a proud holder of. He is a film maker graduated Cal-State University Northridge, 2009 and received his BA degree in Television Production. We believe that Project Love is a great opportunity to not only cycle across America, but to create a high quality documentary that can truly inspire the human race. His story is one of Love, Gratitude, Grace, Harmony, Humility, Forgiveness, Faith and Mercy. He decided to show his gratitude and lead others by way of demonstration and say “Thanks” to our government and give back.

Team Love is going on this journey to inspire the human race with the wonderful gifts that helped Erik Williams heal his heart from tragedy to triumph. As we all know America is coming out of a recession and many of us need to get back to the basics of living a fruitful fulfilling life. We need to be reminded of what is important and how to be that demonstration for the young leaders of the next generation. The basic elements in which Erik Williams along with his team members incorporate in their daily routine of life are Love, Gratitude, Grace, Harmony, Humility, Forgiveness, Faith and Mercy.

Project Love’s success will be based on sponsorship and fundraising. Further along you will find the key elements for the financial success of Project Love. Team Love believes that riding for these gifts can bring the hearts of America to a healing place. What is so wonderful about these gifts is that we don’t have to wait to receive them we are the giver/receiver of these gifts.
